History/Media The Battle Ground Community Band was started in May 1993 by retired Battle Ground School District Band Director Glenn Hansen who moved from the area in 2001. At that time Jim Detchman (also a retired band director) assumed leadership of the band. Jim is currently on medical sabbatical. Until Jim's return to the band, Wayne Hodgin and Jim Hill are serving as co-Directors.
