History/Media The Battle Ground Community Band was started in May 1993 by
retired Battle Ground School District Band Director Glenn Hansen who moved from the area
in 2001. At that time, our current director Jim Detchman (also a retired band
director) assumed leadership. The history of the band is captured in a wonderfully
complete scrap book that is maintained by one of the original and still current member
Dean Vilander (baritone). Ask Dean to see it for the complete history -- including
